Cala Murta
Cala Murta, a beautiful unspoiled beach in the bay of Pollensa near the Formentor Lighthouse.
Update 02/02/23. Cala Murta is a beautiful cove located in the municipality of Pollensa, in the northern part of the island of Mallorca. It is a virgin beach located in a natural entrance on the coast and surrounded by high mountains and lots of vegetation.
The beach of Cala Murta is made up of small boulders. Its seabed combines large areas of sand with other rock and marine vegetation, mainly posidonia, the most common seaweed on the coast of Mallorca. Its waters are crystalline colours and is very protected from the waves.
Its surroundings are of pine forests and bushes and it is easy on hot days to find shade where shelter from the sun.
Cala Murta is not a very busy beach. Some boats from the town of Puerto de Pollensa approach the beach and some hikers access it through the mountain.
Near the beach of Cala Murta is the access to the beach of Cala Figuera.

How to arrive:
From the Puerto de Pollensa you should head towards the Formentor Lighthouse. About 2 kilometers before reaching the lighthouse you will see the indication of the beach of Cala Murta. There is a large parking lot, in the vicinity of the parking there is a path that passes next to a hostel and descends in the middle of the forest to the beach. It takes about 25 minutes to reach the beach on foot.
