The Cala Mayor Beach is located between the rocky west coast of the town of Palma. It is a beach of white sand divided by a breakwater in the center. The beach of Cala Mayor is surrounded by buildings, residential houses and hotels, so is very popular during the tourist season. It is an easily accessible beach although it is difficult to see from the street due to the buildings that surround it. The beach of Cala Mayor is a beach with a very high occupancy during the summer.
The Cala Mayor Beach, although it is open to the Bay of Palma, does not have big waves. The access to the water is with a gentle slope. It has all services plus bars and restaurants in its vicinity. The seabed next to the beach is sandy with rocky areas and some Posidonia meadows and it is common to see boats anchored in front of the beach.
