Cardinal Despuig promoted the most important reform of Raixa that gives the current appearance, made important changes in the main building and coordinated the design of the gardens.
Due to its high historical and artistic value in 1993, Raixa was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC). In 2002 Raixa became a public space when it was acquired by the Fundación Parques Nacionales together with the Consell de Mallorca.
"Raixa stands out for its beautiful gardens and outdoor areas."
A very prominent point of Raixa are its gardens, designed mainly by Giovanni Lazzarini. Also on the outside next to the main building stands the large stair with various fountains and a beautiful pond of large dimensions. Next to the pond there is a path that climbs a small mountain with a viewpoint, a hermitage and a temple.
Near Raixa we find the towns of Bunyola, Deiá or Valldemossa where the emblematic building of La Cartuja stands out.
