Update 09/02/23. The Roman City of Pollentia is the most important Roman archaeological site in Mallorca. It is located outside the medieval walls of the historic center of Alcudia, near the Church. It is open to the public and has a large parking area next to it.
The Roman City of Pollentia was founded in 123 BC and for a time it was the Roman capital of the Balearic Islands due to its strategic location and also because of the geography of its coast, where its ports hosted an important naval transit.
