Update 14/02/20. The excursion to the tower of Albarca takes place in the mountainous area of Natural Park of the Peninsula del Llevant. In this area there are many itineraries for hikers, all of them very well marked. Other outstanding excursions in the area are; Font de la Penya Rotja, Sa Talaia Freda or Puig Figuer among others.

The Albarca tower is located on a cliff with spectacular views. It is a defense tower dating from 1751 and was built to monitor the maritime area between Mallorca and Menorca. It is possible to enter the tower and go up the deck where you can still see an old cannon.

"On the excursion to the Torre de Albarca along the coast you will get incredible panoramic views."

The route we have chosen borders the coast from Cala Torta to Torre de Albarca. To start the tour you can get to Cala Torta by car, although the route at the end is not in very good condition so it is advisable to go by off-road vehicle. Some highlights on this route are Cala Torta, Cala Mitjana, Cala des Metzoc and Torre de Albarca.

On the excursion to the Tower of Albarca the trail in some points presents important slopes, rocky and slippery areas so it is important to exercise extreme caution. In some areas of the route we can also enjoy the forests of the area.

The excursion to the Torre de Albarca is suitable for children from 10 years. If you make the excursion in summer you can swim in different beaches located along the itinerary. The closest to the tower is Cala Matzoc.

How to arrive:

To get to Cala Torta, take the road that goes from Artá to Cala Ratjada, Ma-15. Right at the exit of Artá, at the height of the first gas station, take the Camino del Racó. If you prefer to go directly to the Information Center of the Natural Park of the Península del Llevant, take the Ma-3333 road that passes near the Sanctuary of Sant Salvador, Artá.
