Puig de Sant Salvador
Excursion to Puig de Sant Salvador, Felanitx. Distance 8.4 km, time 2:30h, easy.
Update 09/02/23. The puig of Sant Salvador is located in the municipality of Felanitx, it is a mountain of 509 meters high. 1.5km from the exit of Felanitx towards Portocolom we find the access to Puig de Sant Salvador.
At the top of the Puig de Sant Salvador we find the Sanctuary of Sant Salvador, dating from the 14th century where a church, a chapel and a monument to Christ the King are located.
"To go up the Puig de Sant Salvador there is a trail for hikers."
At the foot of the mountain there is a parking area, from here to the top the route is 4.2 km. It is not necessary to go up the paved road as there is a well signposted path to the Sanctuary of Sant Salvador.
On the path we find a Via Crucis with different stations that date back to the 19th century and represent moments lived by Jesus on the day of his crucifixion.

The path runs mostly between pine forests, there is plenty of shade and any season of the year is optimal for the excursion. As you move towards the top of the Puig de Sant Salvador you can enjoy different views and from the top the views are unbeatable.
The town of Felanitx celebrates the annual festivities of the sanctuary at the beginning of September with a pilgrimage from the town to the Puig de Sant Salvador.
