Tower of Canyamel
Canyamel Tower, 13th century fortress
Update 10/02/23. The Tower of Canyamel is a defense building dating from the 13th century and is located in the municipality of Capdepera, on the east coast of the island.
The situation of the tower makes it possible to have clear views of the Canyamel Valley. From its tower you can see the bay of Canyamel and formerly allowed to be on alert for corsair raids.

The Tower of Canyamel presents a perfect state of conservation, its height is 23 meters and consists of three floors. On its ground floor the walls are 1 meter thick and its architecture is Gothic.
From its roof the views are unbeatable and in addition to seeing the east coast of the island you also get magnificent views of the interior of Mallorca.

In 2009 the Canyamel Tower was opened to the public as a museum and a center for events and exhibitions. In the museum we can see samples of the 8 centuries of history that the Tower of Canyamel has.
Near the Canayamel Tower we can also visit the Capdepera Castle or the Archaeological Site Poblado Ses Païsses.
How to arrive:
The Tower of Canyamel is located next to the Ma-4042 road halfway between the towns of Artá and Canyamel.
